In addition to the many other services available at our office, we provide low level light therapy (LLLT) or “cold laser” therapy. Cold laser works by delivering light energy at specific wavelengths and frequencies in relieve pain and inflammation as well as reducing the healing time of sprains and strains.
There are over 4,000 different studies that show the benefits of LLLT as well as describing how light energy absorbed by the cells stimulates the mitochondria (the “engine” of a cell) to increase production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP which is the energy source of our cells. By increasing the amount of fuel available, the function of any cell improves, speeding up the healing process for injured or damaged tissue.
If you’d like to try LLLT for your shoulder, knee or heel pain (plantar fasciitis), contact us today!
